The Friend's of St Michael's Church Bray

The Friends was originally formed in 1998 by a group wishing to generate funds for the benefit of St Michael’s in order to provide “extras” that were beyond the scope of, or in addition to, the normal expenditure of the PCC on routine running costs, maintenance etc.; the PCC’s funds primarily coming from the collections at services and other regular giving, donations and legacies.

Over recent years the additional funds from the Friends have provided a wide range of items from hymn and prayer books, kneelers, cushions, a storage shed, tents for functions, contributions to various Music at Bray concerts and the piano as well as conservation of the historic black marble Norreys memorial, tables for the hall, the portable font, lectern and Bible etc.

However, it is now apparent that very substantial sums are required for the work recently discovered to be essential on the walls, windows and organ and we are therefore renewing efforts to increase membership of The Friends.

Joining The Friends will enable you to make a continuing contribution to the preservation of this most historic building and it is the intention to arrange various events during the year which will be both fundraising and entertaining.
